Tell us a little about you and what inspired you to become an Aesthetician?

This was my original game plan. I went to estie school right out of high school, however prior to finishing I started a 25 year career in banking, I got sucked into a whole other career path. No November 2024 AOTM Lisa De La Torre blog image 1 regrets, I learned so much and landed where I am as a part of that journey.

How long have you been an aesthetician and what is your favorite thing about your job?
I’ve been practicing for about 3 years now. My favorite part is definitely connecting with people. It’s an intimate act to let someone touch you, and I very much respect and honor that. I also love that there is no destination, I will always be a student. That’s magnificent to me.

How has Skin Script changed your business?
First, Skin Script was kind to me. I attended a conference, and every member of staff including Lisa herself made me feel seen and important. I have felt under valued with other lines… however when I walked into that room I knew I mattered. In addition, because of my commitment to serving women with cancer, I felt so grateful and safe with my Skin Script products. It’s critical that I use products that are safe. In the same breath products that offer results for all of my clients.

What are the Skin Script Products you cannot live without?
Glycolic Cleanser and Goji Berry Yogurt Mask

What is the last song you played on Spotify?
“Close the Door” by Teddy Pendergrass (I’m old school).

Where or what is the best place, you’ve ever been to?
Gosh that’s hard, I’ve traveled extensively, but I’m going to say the best place is my home, it’s modest, but it’s mine, I’ve worked November 2024 AOTM Lisa De La Torre blog image 2hard for it, and I love it because this is where I’ve loved the most, learned and grown the most, where I’ve celebrated and where I’ve also found sanctuary. But mostly because I know my two kids Scout and Atticus know they can find their Momma here at home.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened in the treatment room?
LOL, oh ummm okay, yeah so grace isn’t a natural suit of mine. I had to learn to slow down. I was so clumsy in the beginning. It was like I would actually startle my clients with all the noise I would make. Dropping things, bumping into things. It was horrific. I have to laugh because I probably stressed some people out.

What would you pick if you won a sweepstake that gave you a lifetime supply of anything you wanted?
I would definitely choose something in the health and wellness area, like maybe chef prepared healthy meals or unlimited fitness classes (expensive).
