UPDATE as of June 2nd: We’ve recently completed a detailed review of our Pomegranate Enzyme formula and discovered that the actual active ingredient percentages are slightly different than previously reported. While the formula itself has not changed, the updated and more accurate breakdown is as follows. The label will be updated to reflect the accurate percentages early summer.
- Lactic Acid: ~6.5% (previously reported as 11%)
- Salicylic Acid: ~1.5% (previously reported as 2%)
- Arbutin: ~2.5% (previously reported as 4%)
Key Ingredients
- Pomegranate Fruit and Pomegranate Fruit Extract are excellent antioxidants with an elevated polyphenol content and skin brightening capabilities.
- L-Lactic Acid (6.5%) is an alpha hydroxy acid working as an exfoliant, allowing dead skin cells to slough off to make room for regrowth of new skin. It improves roughness, softens skin, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
- Alpha-Arbutin (2.5%) is a non-irritating skin brightener. It is a excellent alternative to hydroquinone.
- Salicylic Acid (1.5%) is able to penetrate into the pore that contains sebum and exfoliate the dead skin cells that are built up. For this reason, salicylic acid is better used on oily skin with blackheads and whiteheads.
- Mandelic, Malic and Tartartic Acid are supportive acids to increase cell renewal.
- Senestem™ (Glycerin, Plantago Lanceolata Leaf (Plantain) Extract, Xanthan Gum) prevents cell senescence; growth arrest, a process by which a cell ages and permanently stops dividing but doesn’t die. Soothes and strengthens, improves firmness and elasticity, brightens pigmentation.
- Raspberry Seed Oil is an antioxidant and essential fatty acid rich; vitamin E, vitamin A, Omega 3 & 6.
- Grapeseed Extract contains flavonoids that protects capillary walls, inhibits MMPs, are anti-inflammatory, increase cell renewal, antioxidant and healing.
Tips for Use
- Consider using this enzyme on the T-zone and another enzyme on the cheeks.
- This enzyme is great for refining pores and softening the skin.
- Advanced protocol: Mix in ½ tsp of 30% Glycolic Acid for enhanced results.
